“ART AS A FUSION BETWEEN VISUAL EXPRESSION AND PORTUGUESE CULTURE”

Sandra Pita Soares is a visual artist born in Mozambique, who currently resides in Lisbon, Portugal.

Her art is a unique fusion between visual expression and the rich culture of the Portuguese national heritage, being heavily inspired by two unrivaled icons: Fernando Pessoa and Amália Rodrigues.

Born in Mozambique, Sandra grew up immersed in a culturally diverse landscape

By diving into Fernando Pessoa's poetic universe, Sandra finds an inexhaustible source of inspiration for her creations. Pessoa, one of the most famous Portuguese writers, captivates the artist with his reflections on the self and the multiplicity of identities.

In his paintings, one can find enigmatic elements and multiple figures, reflecting the profound influence of this literary master on his art.

Furthermore, Amália Rodrigues, the unforgettable "Queen of Fado", also plays a significant role in Sandra's work. Through Amália's emotional and passionate interpretation, the artist finds inspiration to create paintings that evoke deep feelings and melancholy, so characteristic of Portuguese fado.

Thanks to her talent and dedication, Sandra Pita Soares' paintings have achieved national and international recognition and prestige.

Her works have been exhibited in prestigious galleries around the world, such as the AVA Gallery in Dubai, the Carrousel at the Louvre in Paris and in Rome.
